This project started in the Spring of 2024 as I was planting seeds in my garden. I kept losing track of my seed packets and wanted to set up a collection that was organized to best suit my needs..
I decided to include some information on the backs of the seed packets, both about when the seeds were harvested and information about planting and transplanting the plants.
I was also interested in harvesting and reusing seeds instead of purchasing new ones each season. I learned about the logistics of saving seeds and I'm still learning about all of the benefits of seed banks and seed saving.
This is an 11x17" poster printed on a Vandercook Universal 1 at Parasite press. The text is printed on the letterpress. The imagery and ampersand were printed in black and gold on the risograph at the Church of Riso.
The original imagery is leaves from the garden printed on a plate in black and white.
