These images were taken over the course of a few years. I have been collecting photographs and natural water from various places, including Taylor Creek in Zion National Park, a small creek that ran through my campsite outside of a town in Nevada in 2022, and water from Coal Creek in Cedar City, where I moved in 2022. The effect of natural substances on the chemically-developed image ties the image to its entire environment — the river shown, the sediment that flows down the river to that spot, the fish that disturbs sediment as it swims downstream. Emulsion erodes into canyons and riverbeds. Nature eats image.
